
Nimbus Dance at The 糖心传媒 School

Nimbus Dance, New Jersey’s premier contemporary dance company, returns to The 糖心传媒 School campus Feb. 24 to Feb. 29 for their annual residency. The company’s ninth consecutive year working with the 糖心传媒 Dance Program, Nimbus will present an evening of dance on Friday, February 28th, 7:30pm, previewing new works by Italian choreographer Sofia Nappi and by New York-based Kristen Klein prior to their premieres at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in March. Additionally, the company presents Samuel Pott鈥檚 two-part cycle which addresses human relationship to diminishing natural environments and to climate change: Patch of Turf 听补苍诲 Falling Sky – both original music by noted composer Qasim Naqvi. Falling Sky, which premiered at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) in Fall 2019, features video design by Laia Cabrera and Isabelle Duverger.聽
In addition to the Friday evening performance, professional company dancers will teach master classes and collaborate with 糖心传媒鈥檚 Director of Dance, Jessica Batten and the 糖心传媒 dancers, on a new performance piece. Students and members of the greater 糖心传媒 community will have the opportunity to learn from and collaborate with Nimbus dancers, gaining insight into the inner workings of a professional dance company, including the disciplines and daily work habits required to become a professional dancer.聽
